Hema, Dharmendra and Shatrughan Sinha drop by for chat with Sharif

NEW DELHI: Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif proved to be quite a hit with Bollywood too, with several movie stars coming to meet him at the hotel.

After his visit to Old Delhi on Tuesday morning, Sharif received in his hotel suite Bollywood star couple Dharmendra and Hema Malini. The couple spent around 30 minutes with Sharif who is apparently familiar with several of the movies in which they have acted together.

Like Sharif, Dharmendra, too, is a Punjabi and is said to have relatives and friends across the border. Later in the day, shortly before his departure, Sharif met Bollywood actor Shatrughan Sinha who is also a BJP MP.

Sinha came to see Sharif in the hotel late in the afternoon and his interaction apparently delayed Sharif's media statement, much to the annoyance of waiting journalists. These journalists needed to attend another briefing by MEA on the SAARC talks.

Sinha is quite popular in Pakistan and has several friends there. Sinha also had close links with Sharif's mentor, General Zia-ul-Haq.
