CHENNAI: Union health minister and Congress general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad has sought an appointment with DMK chief M Karunanidhi here on Thursday evening, Congress sources said.
The meeting, if it happens, will take place at a time when the DMK has decided to snap ties with the Congress and contest the 2014 Lok Sabha elections on its own.
DMK sources said the minister had sought an appointment with Karunanidhi, adding that it would be just a courtesy call.
Azad is in Chennai en route to Vellore where he will attend a function at the Christian Medical College on Friday.
