Sonia, Rahul competing to be the better liar: Modi

SIDHAULI (SITAPUR): Firing a fresh salvo at the mother-son duo of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Sunday claimed that the anger levels of the mother-son duo has reached the crescendo and hence they are even scolding their drivers even if their car or SUV passes through a hoarding displaying Narendra Modi. He was addressing a public gathering in Siddhauli assembly segment of Mohanlalganj parliamentary constituency.

Pointing to the Gandhis, Modi said, "These people were born with golden spoons, and no one in their party had the audacity to challenge them and their misdeeds, and most of the party workers were busy doing doing Mujraa. But, now when they are being challenged by a tea seller, who used to sell tea in the compartments, which has perturbed them." Modi further claimed that he has seen hunger and poverty from close quarters, as he was brought up in poverty, and there were several days, when the family did not have food.

Tickling the funny bone of the audience, Modi claimed that there is a constant competition between the mother and son to ascertain that who is a better liar. "If the mother has spoken one lie, the mother will speak two, while the son will attempt to speak four lies before the countrymen," Modi said and added that from the first phase of elections to the current phase, the body language of the mother-son duo has undergone a tremendous change in this period, and in fact it is becoming more and more aggressive in terms of levelling allegations.

"I pity the Congress leaders for their IQ levels. Rahul baba said that Gujarat did not provide 27,000 crore jobs to its people. But, the fact of the matter is that the population of Gujarat is 6 crore, while that of India is 125 crore. Rahul also said that due to malnutrition, 2 children out of 1 die in Gujarat, Modi said and urged the audience not to share this joke with their friends and family members," modi said and added that the Congress is itsef induldged in insulting itself.

The BJP's prime ministerial candidate then made a fervent request to the young voters in the age group of 18-28 years that if they falter in choosing their representatives, then their future would certainly go into doldrums, and said "I request you not elect a Nikkammi (hopeless) government in Delhi. Forget whether Modi will come to power or not. Think about your own future first."

Taking a dig at his political rivals, the Gujarat chief minister said, "Before the polls, the Congress leaders wanted Modi as a PM candidate in order to boost their electoral chances. After a month, they started saying that Modi is a liar and Gujarat is a bundle of lies, and now they have started saying that Modi is a Tsunami that destroys everything." Modi further added that he wants the statement of his rivals to come true, and said, "Aapke mooh mein ghee shakkar (May your words come true). The Tsunami will undoubtedly destroy the nefarious plans of the mother-son duo, seek accountability from father-son duo and unveil the business model of uncle-nephew."

He also criticized the Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party and alleged that they along with the Congress are in a tacit agreement. Pointing to SP and BSP, Modi said, "The regional satraps fight and wrestle out (like WWF) in Uttar Pradesh, but in Delhi, they strike a secret deal behind the scene to realize their ulterior motives. In fact the motivation levels of these parties have reached the lowest possible level, and they are running out of confidence." Modi who is contesting from Varanasi also thanked the people of Kashi for showering their love on him.

Heaping praises on the people of the area, Modi said that the country still fondly remembers the life and works of former PM Atal Bihara Vajpayee and his contributions in development of Lucknow. "The BJP is surging ahead under the guidance of Rajnath Singh, and this election is neither party-specific nor candidate-specific. In fact, in this polls, the countrymen and the entire country is fighting to usher in a change," added the BJP's prime ministerial candidate.
