AHMEDABAD: Security has been tightened in the city ahead of voting in the city. A sense of the security arrangements can be made at a Ranip school where BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's will cast his vote at 8 am on Wednesday. Modi will cast his vote at Nishan Vidhyalaya, near Achhaleshwar Mahadev in Ranip area in the city.
Senior BJP leader LK Advani will cast his vote at Shahpur Municipal School, Bharadiya Vas, Khanpur in Ahmedabad at 11 am. While the national general secretary Amit Shah will cast his vote at Nishkal school, near petrol pump, Sanghvi char rasta, Naranpura in Ahmedabad at 10 am.
For the first time the Gujarat police has shared its list of anti-social elements with the paramilitary forces, who in turn will keep a tab on these miscreants. "To do so each company is given a list of areas having notorious elements, who can disrupt the polling. With this initiative, forces can put those areas under constant surveillance," says a senior police official.
