Job Description:
We need engineers who can understand problems that our clients face while using our products and will do the initial analysis and in most cases, solve the problem right-away. The escalation engineer will directly interact with the support, product management and the core development teams. He or she may have to funnel some of the problems from the support to the engineering group. The escalation engineer will have to understand how engineering solves the problems, and then address them independently the next time a similar issue is registered.
Responsibilities:
Clarify, analyze and develop solutions to complex technical problems.
Identify alternative course of action, sets appropriate priorities and identifies creative and practical solutions.
Recommend, document and present technical resolution action plans
Required skills:
Working knowledge of Linux environment, shell scripting, MySQL, HTML and JavaScript is required
Working knowledge of troubleshooting using tools like Firebug and httpfox
Working knowledge of well-known browsers such as Firefox, Chrome, IE and Safari
Flexible, startup mindset and proven success in fast-paced environments, with the ability to juggle multiple client deadlines
Demeanor that is calm under pressure with the motivation to do what it takes to finish the job
Capacity to work with all teams, including sales, marketing, business development, product management, and engineering
Working knowledge of Tomcat and Apache, and log files analysis for these applications using shell scripting and other mechanisms
MS Office products including strong grasp of Excel Macros and formulae
Proactive, self-starter, problem solving and analytical mindset, good written and spoken English, quick learning, detail oriented and strong interpersonal skills.
Candidate needs to be comfortable to work in shifts from 6 PM to 3 AM.
The candidate should have an understanding of the Online Advertising Industry, a passion for technology and the drive and ownership to work in a start-up environment. The candidate should possess strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on teamwork, ownership, initiative and integrity. High energy and must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and be flexible to react to changing priorities and the ability to prioritize and deliver in a deadline-oriented environment is also critical.
