The team, headed by Dr Anjan Trikha, professor of anaesthesia at AIIMS, also includes gynaecologists, experts in medicine, nephrology, trauma care and others.
However, the ministry ruled out a separate investigation into the matter. A senior health ministry official said since the state had already initiated a probe, there was no need for the ministry to initiate another. However, the Centre is cooperating to provide medical care to the victims and if needed more doctors could be deputed.
As many as 69 women suffering from post-operative complications, following the botched sterilization procedure at a camp in Pendari village of Chhattisgarh's Bilaspur town, are admitted in different hospitals in the state.
