As migration surges in Americas, 'funds simply aren't there' for humanitarian response, UN says

The United Nations official, Ugochi Daniels, has stated that international funds for humanitarian needs are lacking as the flow of migrants in the Americas reaches historic levels. Daniels emphasizes the need for a larger and coordinated regional effort to address the steady movement of vulnerable people towards the United States. However, global funds have been diverted to other crises, leaving countries like Panama and Costa Rica pleading for international aid.
