US President Joe Biden on Thursday pledged to cut US greenhouse gas emissions as much as 52 per cent by the end of this decade, reversing the hands-off policy of his isolationist and science-sceptic predecessor Donald Trump, restoring a global approach in an interdependent world in the throes of a pandemic.
