LAPD funding slashed by $150 million, reducing number of officers

City leaders voted Wednesday to slash the Los Angeles Police Department budget by USD 150 million, reducing the number of officers to a level not seen for more than a decade amid nationwide demands to shift money away from law enforcement agencies during America's reckoning over police brutality and racial injustice.
