As per the Cabinet decision, Agra-Etawah section of NH-2 in UP will be widened to six lanes. It will be developed on BOT (Toll) mode. The cost of this 124.5 km highway stretch is estimated at Rs 1,787 crore, which includes expenses for land acquisition and other pre-construction activities. Once completed, this corridor will improve traffic flow on this stretch, which connects important industrial towns of Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah and other towns in the south-western part of UP.
The second project cleared by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) is eight-laning of Mukarba Chowk in Delhi to Panipat in Haryana section of NH-1. The cost of this 70 km highway stretch is estimated to be Rs 2,204 crore including cost of land acquisition and other pre-construction activities. NHAI has already received financial bids for this project, which will be opened at anytime.
The CCEA also approved the four-laning of the Solapur-Bijapur section of NH-13 in Maharashtra and Karnataka. The cost is estimated to be Rs 1,538 crore including cost of land acquisition and other pre-construction activities. The total length of this stretch road is approximately 109 kms.
