"I am going to Punjab to look at the situation of farmers, want to analyze the ground situation," Rahul Gandhi told reporters at New Delhi railway station.
"The government is trying to snatch the land of farmers. This is wrong. We are going to counter it," Rahul said.
Rahul will be reaching Ambala (Haryana) by train, from where he will travel to Gobindgarh by road.
Apart from getting first-hand feedback of the situation at a grain market in Mandi Gobindgarh, he is also likely to spend the night with a farmer family in Khanna.
