Jet flight makes emergency landing at Raipur airport

RAIPUR: A Mumbai-Raipur-Bhopal-Mumbai flight of Jetlite Airways (S2 4121) with 160 passengers on board made an emergency landing here this evening following a snag in the landing air due to a flat tire. Though the flight landed safely, it was subsequently grounded.

According to officials, the pilot of the flight, which was coming from Mumbai, noticed the snag minutes before landing. Airport officials, who were informed about the snag at about 7.25pm, immediately sounded an alert and the plane landed at its scheduled time at 7.40pm with a flat nose tire.

Officials claimed that the plane suffered no damage but the aircraft was subsequently grounded. Airport officials said about 50 of them were given accommodation at hotels here.
