PATNA: Jitan Ram Manjhi on Friday said he has quit, adding, he should have "resigned before".
Manjhi said that he did not get respect as chief minister.
"I should have quit before," said Manjhi soon after he met governor Keshari Nath Tripathi here on Friday.
"I have submitted my resignation letter to the governor," he added.
An official told IANS that Manjhi met the governor ahead of the trust vote he faced later in the day.
Manjhi said that his legislators had received threats to their lives.
