SHIMLA: After facing crushing defeat in the Lok Sabha elections, Congress has now started the process to strengthen its cadre base in Himachal Pradesh. Setting its eyes on 2017 assembly polls a three days brainstorming session starting Sunday is being held at Shimla.
AICC general secretary and party incharge for Himachal Pradesh Ambika Soni said that current pahse is challenging for Congress and during the workshop leaders would suggests ways and means to strengthen the party.
She said that workshop would provide a platform to a worker or leader to express their opinion without any fear or hesitation. "They will provide us the feedback regarding how to come out of current phase and what kind of relationship should be there between government and organization," she added.
She said that in Himachal Pradesh state government and orgnaisation both are working with much better coordination. She said that based on the feedback, action plan would be prepared and report would be presented to party high command to prepare the future action plan of party.
Soni said that workers doing commendable job for the party too would be honoured in coming time for which a convention would be held either in April or May.
She said that if needed then three days workshop at Shimla could be extended for another couple of days as the heads of all frontal organizations, district and block Congress units would keep their views during the period.
When asked about opinion polls showing AAP leading in Delhi elections, she said that Congress had ruled in Delhi for 15 years and if people there want change then results would show it.
"We have served and worked for people for 15 years. If AAP is getting more seats in opinion poll then we respect people's verdict," she said. Soni quickly added that AAP had left the government in 49 days and now apologized to people for this.
