Mumbai: Uddhav Thackeray has expressed dissatisfaction over the distribution of financial aid to farmers hit by drought, unseasonal rains and hailstorm. By targeting the state government on the farmers' issue, Thackeray has indicated that he would not hesitate to take on the Devendra Fadnavis ministry from time to time, irrespective of the Sena's power-sharing ties with the BJP, said political analysts.
Thackeray on Monday said he would soon undertake a statewide tour to ascertain if the state assistance had reached the aggrieved farmers. "I will go to villages and talk to farmers in the state to know if they had received the official assistance from the government," the Sena president said, hinting at leakages in the administrative machinery. Speaking to mediapersons at his photo exhibition, Thackeray said the proceeds of the exhibition would go to the drought-affected farmers.
