Shashi Tharoor, Sunanda fought over woman called Katy, reveals domestic help

NEW DELHI: Delhi Police will be questioning about 15 people in connection with the death of Sunanda Pushkar. The police had interacted with 12 people in November but this is the first time they will be called for proper questioning in the case as an FIR has been registered now.

A woman, Katy, figures on the list. She is alleged to have been the cause of fights between Sunanda and Tharoor in Dubai and elsewhere. Tharoor's domestic help, Narain, had mentioned her though police sources said no one could confirm her identity. She may be questioned after the cops have spoken to Tharoor.

One employee of Leela Palace Hotel - who had quit soon after the incident, according to a cop - besides one who is still working there are likely to be questioned.

The cops may speak to a family friend, identified as Sanjay Dewan by a source, who had allegedly told the manager to call the doctors after Sunanda became unresponsive at the hotel on the evening of January 17. Sanjay, Narain has told the cops, was asking about Sunanda's health on January 17.

Rakesh Sharma, another family friend, too is on the list as he took Narain from the hotel to Tharoor's house that night and apparently stopped the help, as he claimed to the police, from touching or disturbing Sunanda saying she was sleeping. Abhinav, Tharoor's secretary, who informed the Sarojini Nagar SHO, Atul Sood, saying she has "done something" is also going to be grilled, a source added.

The police said they have questioned around 12 people, including Narain, Bajrangi (another help), Trakru, and several hotel employees who had any connection with room numbers 345 or 307 between January 15 and 17.

Some members of the SIT are also expected to go to Kerala either to question Tharoor or get more evidence, the sources said. A team has already met employees of the institute where Sunanda was admitted before she came to Delhi. She was discharged on January 14 and had not been prescribed or administered any injection or alprax.
