Ludhiana coldest place in Punjab at 5.2°C, as mercury drops

CHANDIGARH: Ludhiana was the coldest place in Punjab on Monday as minimum temperatures dropped by a few notches in the state and neighbouringHaryana.

Ludhiana's minimum settled two notches below normal, the Met department report said.


Amritsar, too, experienced a cold night at 5.4 degrees celsius, while Patiala's low settled at 9.1 degrees celsius.


In Haryana, Narnaul was the coldest place recording a minimum of 5.4 degrees celsius, two notches below normal.


Hisar recorded a low of 7.1 degrees celsius, down one notch, while Karnal's minimum settled at 7.5 degrees celsius, two degrees below normal.


Ambala recorded a low of 8.5 degrees celsius. Chandigarh's minimum settled at 8.5 degrees celsius, two notches above normal level.
