Prince William warns paparazzi against 'harassing' George

LONDON: Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton have issued the first legal warning over concerns of their son's privacy being invaded.

Prince William has been left worried about his 14-month-old son Prince George's privacy after a recent incident in a park in London where was concerned an individual was monitoring his young son's daily routine and "placing Prince George under surveillance."

The couple said that while the prince is young "he must be permitted to lead an ordinary life".

A statement issued by Kensington Palace said, "The Duke and Duchess have taken legal steps to ask that an individual ceases harassing and following both Prince George and his Nanny as they go about their ordinary daily lives".

The warning issued on Thursday added, "The Duke and Duchess understand the particular public role that Prince George will one day inherit but while he is young, he must be permitted to lead as ordinary a life as possible. No parent would tolerate the suspicion of someone pursuing and harassing their child whilst their child is playing in a public park or going about their daily activities".

A legal action has also been taken against a particular photographer who has been asked to 'cease harassing' Prince George and his nanny.

The palace statement added, "There is reason to suspect that the individual may have been placing Prince George under surveillance and monitoring his daily routines over a period of time".
