Left launches agitation against Saradha scam

KOLKATA: Left parties staged a demonstration in Kolkata on Monday demanding arrest of the accused people in Saradha scam. Two rallies of Left parties started their rally throwing traffic out of gear on Monday afternoon creating much hardship to the commuters.

One rally started from Sealdah and another started from Subodh Mullick Square. However to prevent the Left leaders from staging a meeting at Subodh Mullick Park the park was locked by Kolkata Municipal Corporation staff.


The Left leaders demanded that all the accused leaders of the leading party should be questioned. Already Kunal Ghosh a Trinamool MP in custody had named several Trinamool leaders including Mamata Banerjee and Mukul Roy. Even he named Partha Chatterjee too for allegedly taking money for the puja committee which he was president.


On Monday, ED officials questioned four officials of East Bengal club for accepting money from Saradha. Nitu Sarkar another EB official is also in custody for taking money from Saradha chief Sudipto Sen.


The CBI officials are also questioning Rajat Mazumdar a former DG for his links in the Saradha scam.
