Firing outside film producer and 2G scam accused Karim Morani's house

MUMBAI: Three unknown people fired bullets targeting film "Chennai Express" producer and 2G case accused, Karim Morani, on Saturday night.

Morani claimed that three men came on a bike and fired three bullets. No one was injured in the incident.


After the firing, Morani received an SMS on his mobile phone where a fugitive gangster threatened him with dire consequences. Morani reported the incident to the police on Sunday.

Juhu police registered an attempt to murder case against three unknown people.


Morani had been receiving threatening calls from fugitive gangster Ravi Pujari in last few months. He had requested police for a bodyguard too.


The police yet to take call on his request.

Morani is an accused in 2G scam case and the CBI had arrested him in the case in 2011.


He is out on bail.


He was accused of helping in the transfer crores of rupees to the DMK family-run Kalaignar TV in the 2G case.
