BJP complains against minister and SP in Himachal

SHIMLA: Claiming that free and fair polls are not possible in Una district of Hamirpur parliamentary constituency due to presence of industries minister Mukesh Agnihotri as entire police force is working on his direction, BJP on Saturday demanded deployment of central police forces in the district.

In a complaint made to chief election commisioner V S Sampath on Saturday, state BJP president Satpal Singh Satti said that Una SP Anupam Sharma has been threatening urban local bodies and panchayat representatives by asking them to vote for Congress. He said that SP was working on direction of the industries minister.

Satti said that due to presence of the minister in Una, police cannot work impartially. He further alleged that the minister is using money power in Haroli constituency which borders Punjab, and claimed that he also brought people from Punjab to disrupt the election process. Satti demanded that Haroli assembly constituency should be declared a sensitive area and central police forces should be deployed there. He also demanded shifting of Una SP Anupam Sharma within 24 hours.
