Jaipurities woke up to a comparatively pleasant morning as the city experienced a minimum temperature of 25.1 degrees Celsius. It was followed by a hot afternoon as a maximum temperature of 39.6 degree Celsius was recorded in the city. Though cloudy conditions prevailed on the outskirts of the city, it did not convert into rain.
Due to the ongoing spell of the heat wave conditions, the roads gave an empty look in the afternoon.
Barmer was followed by Jalore which recorded a maximum temperature of 43 degrees Celsius, Jodhpur 42 degrees, Kota 41.7, Jaisalmer 41.5, Bikaner 41.3, Chittorgarh 41, Churu 40.8, Sriganganagar 40.6, Ajmer 39.9, Udaipur 39.5 and Pilani recorded a maximum temperature of 38.1 degree Celsius.
By the first week of May, majority of the places will witness its maximum temperature on or above 41 degree Celsius.
"Due to the western disturbances in April, rain and thundershowers were witnessed at many places in the northern and eastern parts of the state. However in the climatic pattern suggests that in the next couple of days the mercury will take an upward swing and heat wave conditions will aggravate in the state," said a met forecast.
