Samajwadi Party may not fight against Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi

LUCKNOW: Sending out signals that the Samajwadi Party will follow the customary political courtesies by not fielding candidates in the Gandhi bastion, SP state president Akhilesh Yadav clarified that party leadership had not, till Monday, fielded any candidate in Rae Bareli and Amethi.

Responding to questions about the SP's decision in this regard, Akhilesh said, "They have also, traditionally, not fielded any candidates in Kannauj and Mainpuri. SP believes in following these political traditions. The final decision, however, rests with the SP leadership."
