HAZARIBAG: Chouparan police of Hazaribag recovered huge cache of detonators and explosives, including five can bombs, five cooker bombs, two cylinder bombs and gelatin sticks from Dooragarha forest, which is a Maoist-dominated belt bordering Chatra and Hazaribag district on Friday, said SP Manoj Kaushik.
The SP said, "These explosives must have been kept there to target security forces, who have launched a massive drive against the rebels for peaceful election in the region." It has also been learnt that owing to the Maoist threat, no votes were polled at Dooragarah during last election.
Barhi SDPO Avinash Kumar, who was leading a joint operation with Chouparan CRPF and JAP, recovered the explosives and bombs weighing between five and 10 kg. These were hidden in the cave of a hill in the rocky belt.
