Placement Director will manage and coordinate the undergraduate placement activity within the University strategic objectives and will take responsibility for:
Representing University to prospective employers and seeking appropriate new placement opportunities both nationally and internationally to include liaising with employers regarding visits to campus for recruitment events ensuring that employer needs are met and that students and staff are aware of the event.
Monitoring the suitability of existing placement opportunities; ensuring that employers are aware of their responsibilities to the student and of the students and the Universitys responsibilities to them; maintaining long-term relationships with the employers concerned.
Promoting placement opportunities and benefits to students in a range of media including, but not limited to, flyers, presentations, documents, video online activity and KLU TV, Advising students on their applications and on the requirements of them in undertaking a placement; providing a point of contact while the students are on placement and to provide feedback to employers following a placement.
Delivering careers related modules to prepare student for placement and help them to reflect on their experiences. To advise and guide students (in groups or as individuals, online and in person) about the application process including, CVs, application forms, assessment centres, interviews and selection tests.
Working in collaboration with the work placement supervisors, ensuring that they are available to meet students or employers when necessary and to brief him/her about any problems or concerns. To work closely with the Department to allocate workloads to the staff, arrange financial transfers and ensure consistency of approach.
Visiting the workplace to ensure adequate supervision of placements; communicating details of placements to the University bodies which require the information; and to administer all other aspects of the activity.
Assessing placement opportunities to ensure they meet the quality assurance guidelines with reference to academic subject validation documents and ensuring all placements (sourced by University or the student themselves) reach the guidelines set for Health and Safety compliance, supporting and advising employers when necessary on their legal obligations.
Gathering and analyzing market information, trends and competitor developments in order to understand and disseminate market intelligence for undergraduate placements across the University; managing and analyzing data and in relation to placement activity and creating reports for both internal and external view; contributing to the development of external accreditation reports; and participating in external accreditation reviews in relation to undergraduate placements. To prepare a report to the Management on an annual basis.
Undertaking any other duties as required by the Management.
Qualification: PG with 10+ years of relevant experience.
