NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Thursday asked two Sahara companies to reveal the source of Rs 19,000 crore that it claimed to have refunded to its investors.
The apex court warned Sahara that it would order a full-fledged probe, if the Subrata Roy-led group did not disclose the source of money it refunded to its investors. The two companies, being registered under the Sahara Group, would have to account for every rupee so it would not be difficult to locate the source of such huge money, the top court added.
Further, the SC asked the Sahara Group to give details by January 23, and warned that if they fail it would ask Registrar of Companies and the CBI to investigate the fund source.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court order barring Sahara chief Subrata Roy from leaving the country would continue.
