NEW DELHI: Congress MP Sanjay Nirupam on Sunday ended his fast after Maharashtra chief minister Prithviraj Chavan promised to look into his demand to reduce the power tariff in Mumbai in the next few days.
"I have decided to suspend the agitation for now as the state government is looking into the matter. If a decision is not taken soon, I will again sit on protest," Nirupam said announcing the end of fast.
The state government has also agreed to look into the possibility of auditing the power discoms.
" I will look into the matter in the next two days, and will also study the feasibility of audit," Chief minister Prithviraj Chavan said.
