Ten-member delegation from New South Wales met Narendra Modi

GANDHINAGAR: A ten-member delegation from New South Wales (NSW) of Australia led by its premier Barry O'Farrell during their meeting with Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi in Gandhinagar on Wednesday evinced keen interest to further mutual co-operation between the two regions.

It was O'Farrell's third visit to Gujarat. He explored areas of strengthening relations in infrastructure development, technology transfer and education. This include application of clean technology in 10 cities in Gujarat, water management infrastructure at SIR, dual diploma course in skill development with TAFE, tie-up with Yoga University and Sports University, developing renewable energy sector like rooftop solar technology and dairy technology.


There being a noteworthy rise in Gujarati students pursuing higher education in Australian universities, the Premier discussed starting university students exchange programme.


NSW premier was accompanied by Australian consul general Marc Pears during the meeting.
