NEW DELHI: BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi expressed disappointment over party spokespersons speaking in an uncoordinated manner and often at cross purposes and suggested that only those authorized to articulate the official position should appear before the media.
Modi's comments came at a party meeting here on Tuesday where he stressed that the BJP's position on important issues should appear to be well considered and consistent. He is understood to have pointed to the contradictions in the party stance on major issues and the consequent opportunity this provides to opponents to attack BJP.
The Gujarat CM participated in the first major party exercise after the recent assembly elections during which he campaigned extensively. The deliberations were attended by BJP chief ministers, including those involved in the recent polls where BJP won in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh but lost out in Delhi.
