Cautious Hina Khar chose to keep quite

AMRITSAR: Known for her style statement, Pakistan's former trendy and young foreign minister Hina Rabanni Khar arrived Amritsar from Delhi on Friday. Accompanied by her husband Firoze Gulzar Khar, Hina was on way to Lahore after attending a private function in Delhi.

Khar who received admiration in India and criticism in Pakistan for giving bold statement that she ' disagreed with the views of Jamat-ud- Dawah (JuD) chief and 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks mastermind Hafiz Saeed chose not to speak with media at Sri Guru Ramdas Ji International airport where she arrived on Friday after noon.


"Pleasure meeting" replied Khar in response to questions asked by TOI with regards to India-Pak relations .


She was received by a Sub Divisional Magistrate and went to pay obeisance at Golden Temple in a Mercedes owned by a local hotelier.


At Golden Temple, again Khar chose not to give reply to political questions but agreed to speak about her maiden visit to the holiest of holy shrine of Sikhs.


"It is a matter of honour for me to visit historical city of Amritsar " she said adding that being in Amritsar she never wanted to go without visiting Golden Temple.


Stating that everyone knew that a Sufi saint had laid the foundation stone of Golden Temple. Khar said "Different religions had several commonalities and Golden Temple represents that". She was bestowed upon siropa (robe of honour) and set of books in the information center of Golden Temple.


Khar later went to Attari for crossing over the international border to Pakistan.
