On Saturday, Manchester Airport's passport control was unstaffed when a Ryanair flight landed there from Madrid. A video, shot by a passenger, showed about 140 passengers walking through passport control without anybody asking them to show their visas.
The flight was expected to land on Friday night, but didn't do so until Saturday morning. The airport staff blamed the airline saying it is their duty to notify UK Border Force about arrivals from outside UK. Britain's Home Office and security staff at the Manchester Airport have launched a probe into the security breach at UK's third-largest airport.
The airport recently said it has broken its all-time passenger record, with 22.32 million people flying through it in the last financial year.
