"When the Centre had already given calamity relief fund to the state, the government is ruing about shortage of resources. Instead of providing relief, cheques of Rs 75 and Rs 100 are being distributed, which is like rubbing salt on the wounds of the farmers," BJP state president Laxmi Kant Bajpai alleged.
He expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi for reducing crop damage criteria for providing compensation to affected farmers from 50 per cent to 33 per cent.
On Land Acquisition (Amendment) Bill, Bajpai said that prima facie agriculturable land would not be acquired and if it was done then four time higher compensation would be paid along with job to a family member.
