DHAKA: An Indian man, who was a senior member of the banned Ulfa, and his Bangladeshi aide were on Wednesday sentenced to life by a court for intrusion, illegal possession of weapons and carrying out terrorist activities.
A district sessions cou- rt in northern Kishorganj handed down the sentence. "ULFA member Ranjan Chowdhury and his associate Pradi Marak were tried under four cases," a police official said. They were arrested in July 2010 in Kishorganj by the Rapid Action Battalion.
