AAP volunteers allegedly beaten by Sena workers

KALYAN: AAP volunteers, who were running signature campaign against fund sanctioned of Rs 10.10 crore for memorials and statute of late Sena leader Bala Saheb Thakaray, Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar and late BJP leader Gopinath Munde by KDMC (Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal corporation) in recent budget, were allegedly beaten up by Shiv Sena workers in Kala Talao area Kalyan.

AAP volunteers on Thursday filed non-cognizance offence against four unidentified people suspected to be Sena workers.

In complaint AAP volunteers said that on Wednesday evening they four volunteers were running peaceful signature campaign in Kala talao area against recent budget in which KDMC sanctioned fund of Rs 10.10 crore for statutes.

AAP volunteer Ashish joshi said we are not against statute of famous personalities those who devoted their life for country but we wants that first development work should be done in city then only statute should be made.

Joshi said we have given five suggestions to KDMC Chief and Mayor on which for betterment of society fund of Rs 10.10 crore can be used.

Looking at AAP party demand, the another organization called Rastra Jyot Sanstha on Thursday also launched campaign against such memorials and statute in Kalyan city.
