"In the last budget, the tax exemption was increased from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 2.5 lakh. But people expect the exemption to be increased to Rs 5 lakh this time," Ramadoss said in a statement.
The PMK chief also said Tamil Nadu should get more funds in the coming railway budget.
He said Tamil Nadu got only five new trains and Rs 645 crore in the last budget. This was much less than what the state got when party has representation in the railway ministry.
"Former Union minister Anbumani Ramadoss met railway minister Suresh Prabhu on February 12 and wanted funds for 19 projects in the state. He also wanted the minister to allocate Rs 9,215 crore for all these projects," he said.
