Foreign ministry to hold camps to facilitate passports

NEW DELHI: The foreign ministry is organizing a nationwide Passport Seva Camp starting on Saturday, intended to provide passport services to far flung areas of the country.

"In October, Passport Seva Camps are planned at Agra, Allahabad, Cuddalore, Daman, Indore, Jamshedpur, Karwar, Karimnagar, Lakshadweep, Siliguri and Warangal," a statement by the ministry said.

The process of application will remain the same as during normal working of the Passport Seva Kendras. Passport officials will be deputed at the camps to help and guide applicants, the statement said.

Based on the public response, the foreign ministry intends to hold such camps periodically across the country in the coming months.
