"The government has enough time till 2019 to act on the issue," said RSS joint general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale. He called Ram temple a national issue and said they did not need pressurize the government on this issue while speaking at the RSS national executive meet here on Friday.
"Any decision on demand or programme related to Ram temple construction will be taken by dharmacharyas and Vishwa Hindu Parishad, which is supported by the RSS,'' he said.
"The BJP government has been formed for five years and it is not RSS's duty to fix priority of the government. The government will have to fix its priorities keeping other matters which they think are important in mind."
Hosabale said national security issues would be discussed at the RSS meet and added 'love jihad' may figure in the deliberations.
This contradicted RSS media in-charge Manmohan Vaidhya's statement, saying 'love jihad' was not on the agenda.
Hosabale said the RSS would not pass any economic and political resolution since the government has been in office for just a few months. "We will first see its performance," he said.
The RSS would chalk out a plan for rehabilitation work in disaster-hit Jammu & Kashmir, Andhra Pradesh and Meghalaya. Hosabale claimed RSS workers participated in relief operations in these states.
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat earlier inaugurated the three-day meet. He paid tributes to Indian soldiers killed in exchange of fire with Pakistan on the border and those killed in recent natural calamities.
