"Rajnath Singh has been telling his fellow Rajput castemen that not Narendra Modi but he is the "real" candidate for the prime minister's post to influence them to vote for BJP. But neither Rajnath nor Modi will be able to befool the people of Bihar who are so intelligent that they would teach the BJP seniors the 'ABCD of politics'," the RJD chief said here before going to Saran parliamentary constituency to campaign in favour of his wife and party candidate Rabri Devi.
RJD chief was reacting to the BJP president's Thursday statement in which Rajnath, while addressing an election rally in Muzaffarpur, had asked why was Lalu Prasad 'afraid' of Congress and still supporting it despite knowing that it was responsible for price rise and rampant corruption.
Apparently referring to the CBI cases against RJD chief in the fodder scam, the BJP president had also said, "Laluji knows well that if Congress gets angry with him, what will happen to him."
Infuriated over the BJP president's Thursday speech, the RJD chief also said, "Rajnath Singh is a parrot tutored by RSS. Rajnath speaks what he is told by the RSS."
The RJD chief was, however, soft on BSP president Mayawati and Samajwadi Party supremo head Mulayam Singh Yadav. He even praised Mayawati for doing several works for the empowerment of dalits and poorer sections of the society. "In Uttar Pradesh, both Mulayam Singh and Mayawati are with secular forces and working to stop the rise of communal forces," Prasad said.
Reacting to Prasad terming Rajnath Singh as a parrot of RSS, senior BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain said Lalu Prasad himself is a "parrot of Congress". "Lalu Prasad speaks what is dictated to him by Congress. He cannot go even a line beyond the Congress' dictation. Congress sent him to jail and got him released on bail for campaigning in the polls," Hussain said while returning the barbs on Prasad.
