Priyanka benefitted under UPA rule, BJP says

NEW DELHI: The BJP continued with its attack on Priyanka Gandhi for her repeated criticism of Narendra Modi alleging that she has benefitted a lot during the UPA's rule and came out in full support of her husband Robert Vadra as even Congress leaders had shied away from it.

"Whenever Congress government has come to office, Priyanka Gandhi has benefitted a lot from it. (Robert) Vadra has reaped a lot of profits. For benefits, one can go anywhere to campaign. No one can stop her. She does not need anyone's permission for campaigning anywhere," BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said.

The BJP leader was sarcastic on Priyanka's defence of Vadra saying, "I feel she is an Indian and follows Indian traditions. It is natural that as a wife she will defend her husband whenever there are allegations leveled against him."

"Since Congress ministers are not defending Robert Vadra, it is natural that Priyanka is coming out in support of him," he said.

On Priyanka's recent attacks against Modi, the BJP leader said she is repeating the same allegations earlier leveled by Sonia Gandhi and Rahul.
