Businessman booked for violating poll code of conduct

MUMBAI: The Dindoshi police have registered a case against a businessman for violation of election code of conduct after a party was organised for Shiv Sena workers at a luxury hotel in Goregaon without the permission of the Election Commission. The case was lodged on the basis of a complaint filed on March 30 by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Mayank Gandhi with the additional collector's office.

The party was organised at a luxury hotel in Oberoi Garden City around 8 pm on March 29. Shiv Sena workers attended it in large numbers. Police officials said meals were served and other activities too were organised.

"We have registered a case against Shiv Sena member, Pradeep Rathod. He was the organiser of the party and footed the bill," said Jaywant Mane, senior inspector, Dindoshi police station. Rathod runs a company called Sebo World.
