Lalu Prasad offers 11 seats to Congress, 1 to NCP in Bihar

NEW DELHI: Reacting to reports of Congress-Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) alliance hitting a rough patch, party chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Saturday said the RJD has offered eleven seats to the Congress and is waiting for a response from the latter.

"My aim is to join all secular forces present in the country, and right now, I don't want to comment on anything against the Congress. We have offered eleven seats to the Congress, and, we are waiting for their response," said Lalu Prasad Yadav.

"We have been in talks with Congress leaders and are hopeful that there is nothing wrong happening. I have always said that India is with the Congress although, all the rivals of our party are thinking of ways to finish me," he said.

"Communal and fascist forces are trying to divide the nation. Modi and RSS, who are friends with Nitish Kumar, believe in a divide and rule policy," he added.

Earlier, Lalu Prasad Yadav said that time for alliance has ended. Now it is time to go to ground for political battle.

Lalu, who is upset after Ram Vilas Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) ditched him and joined hands with Bharatiya Janata Party led NDA, he made it clear that RJD will on its own start preparation for the general election.

"Now, time is not to visit Delhi any more for alliance with Congress. I will focus and concentrate to get ready for poll campaigns," Lalu said.

He also pointed that it is not possible to hold talk on alliance by sitting in Delhi.

"We will be in touch on telephone," he said.
