Under general direction the Business Analyst plans and conducts research of business processes and systems with various business units, departments, or groups. Identifying business requirements, workflow and necessary training for internal, FTT customers, they recommend cost-effective solutions to resolve business system issues and to improve productivity. Formulating and defining system scope and objectives based on user needs; they use research and fact-finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems, and prepare detailed, functional specifications from which software will be developed. They work closely with Software Engineering staff throughout the project lifecycle to ensure project scope/objectives are met. Rely on ability to research, interpret and apply analytical skills, business acumen and knowledge to plan and accomplish objectives within corporate and department policies, procedures and standards.
JOB DUTIES:
Communicate with the business units to gather and document requirements and identify potential requirements and business impacts.
Support the software engineer in the creation of technical specifications.
Author the System Delivery Specification documentation and perform document walk-through.
Act as the customer advocate to ensure that FTT provides the business with required service levels.
Work with the business units to document and resolve business system problems and issues.
Support business community in integration and acceptance testing as necessary; follow up on changes required as a result.
Analyze, coordinate and support training as needed to meet departmental needs due to project changes.
Communicate with project or business unit managers on the status of deliverables and project issues.
Facilitate project meetings.
Research and analyze application systems to develop an understanding of internal and/or external customer business requirements for the development of solutions to existing system performance issues and /or applications for new systems.
Revise documentation to reflect system revisions and modifications, as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree or two years of project experience installing or maintaining software as a Business Analyst.
Two years practical work experience applying Software Development Life Cycle methodology.
Advanced level technical knowledge in area of expertise.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Financial Industry experience.
Practical work experience using Microsoft Project.
Project Management certification.
Training and or certification in requirements gathering.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Perform multiple tasks with conflicting priorities and deadlines in a fast paced, team environment.
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.
Attention to detail necessary to gather and assimilate information from a variety of sources.
Intermediate skill level working with Microsoft Office Suite of products; Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio.
PROBLEM SOLVING AND DECISION MAKING:
Solve routine department problems or customer issues with little direction.
Quickly assess problems to determine to what level it should be elevated.
Apply analytical skills and techniques to resolve problems.
